ABOUT US

Welcome to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Beta Epsilon Omega Chapter!

It is with great pride and excitement that I extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Beta Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. As the 45th president of this esteemed chapter, I am honored to lead alongside a group of exceptional women dedicated to sisterhood, service, and excellence.

Chartered on March 24, 1934, Beta Epsilon Omega Chapter is proud to be the 55th graduate chapter in the United States, the 1st graduate chapter in West Tennessee, and the 1st Greek-letter organization established in Memphis, TN. Despite the challenges of the Great Depression of the 1930s, our chapter has been unwavering in its commitment to service, embodying the sorority’s mission of “Service to All Mankind” and the 2022–2026 theme, “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,” set forth by International President & CEO Danette Anthony Reed.

Accordingly, for 90 years, Beta Epsilon Omega has been a beacon of service, addressing the needs of local, regional, national, and international communities. We are proud to award over $55,000 annually in scholarships to support the higher education of deserving students. Additionally, our non-profit foundation, Sisters in Service Foundation, Incorporated, spearheads numerous community service programs that make a meaningful impact in the Memphis area.

Our chapter also proudly oversees three amazing undergraduate chapters:

  • Beta Tau at LeMoyne-Owen College;

  • Epsilon Epsilon at the University of Memphis; and

  • Mu Epsilon at Christian Brothers University.

If you are an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® member seeking a chapter home, we warmly invite you to consider Beta Epsilon Omega. Our chapter meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month, excluding July and August.
